Hip block
Hip joint injections are an alternative pain-relieving treatment to surgery. There are various injections for hip pain, from corticosteroids to “joint gel” substances such as hyaluronic acid. I also offer injections for hip bursitis and knee arthritis.
Hip replacement surgery
If you’re experiencing an unpleasant pain in your hip after sitting or long walks, you may have hip impingement or hip arthritis. There are various treatments that I offer for this.
Hip Replacement
I specialise in tendon sparing hip surgery, and I am one of a very few surgeons in Dorset using the piriformis sparing and SPAIRE approach. With this tendon sparing approach, hip precautions are not required, and this will help you to recover faster and get back to living an active life!
Hip Revision Surgery
If you have painful or worn hip replacement and would like a second opinion, I can help. I have had advanced specialist training in Revision (or re-do) hip replacement surgery and can change the implants for you to alleviate your pain.
Stiff and sore at the Knees?
You are not alone. Most people experience knee pain at some time in their lives. There are many reasons for this, but cartilage damage or wear is one of the most common. I offer various treatments to help with your knee symptoms.
Knee Replacement
If you have knee arthritis and your pain is not responding to painkillers, physiotherapy, or other treatments, it may be necessary to consider surgery to replace the surface of the damaged knee. This procedure is called Knee Replacement surgery, which I offer to help alleviate your symptoms.
Knee Arthroscopy
Arthroscopy is keyhole surgery which involves using an arthroscope (or camera) inside your knee to diagnose and treat a range of knee problems that could be the cause of your knee symptoms.
